Scrimshaw

All bone material has been sterilized for two weeks before I start to work on them. I use Bison, cow, deer, antelope, elk bones to carve on. All carvings will be a one of a kind as I hand carve each of my carvings. I do not use dremel tools on my scrimshaw. This is why you will see fine line details on my carvings. Scrimshaw carving was passed down from my grandfather. My mother also carves. If you have any questions about any of my carvings feel free to email me at gwc@bresnan.net. I do personal carvings of anything you would like even your pet.

I carve on all sorts of material such as: whitetail deer antlers, mule deer antlers, fallow deer antlers, elk antlers, moose antlers, antler beads (that I make), buffalo bone, cow bone, elk bone, ivory, teeth, and wood.

This scrimshaw carving on real deer antler of a cross can hang wherever you would like to put it by the suede coming out of the top of the antler. The back side of antler still has the natural antler look to it. Hang it on your rear view mirror, a purse, off the mantle or use as a keychain.  I used black Indian ink and color on the carving and sealed it.
